Last checked Oct. 9, 2026. Refreshed every three months.

Smoked barbecue in Fort Lauderdale runs along Federal Highway (US 1), downtown and south of the New River, with two more smokehouses in the north end on East Commercial Boulevard and East Cypress Creek Road. Grilled meat in the South American style is on Las Olas Boulevard and East Sunrise Boulevard.

How we made this list. The places come from OpenStreetMap records inside the Fort Lauderdale city limits, the same data behind our local directory, checked against each place’s own website on Oct. 9, 2026. We added Fat Boyz BBQ’s second Fort Lauderdale restaurant from its own ordering page and confirmed every address with the U.S. Census Bureau’s geocoder. We left out a Korean barbecue restaurant and a smokehouse whose websites were not working when we checked. The list is alphabetical. It is not a ranking or a recommendation, and nobody paid to be on it. Run one of these places? Write to us to correct your entry.

Fat Boyz BBQ began as a food truck and now has restaurants in Fort Lauderdale and Deerfield Beach, according to its site, which lists two Fort Lauderdale ordering locations: downtown on South Federal Highway and in the north end on East Cypress Creek Road. It says its meats are smoked daily with its own rubs and sauces, and it also caters with its food truck.

Lasso Gaucho Brazilian Steakhouse on East Sunrise Boulevard is a Brazilian steakhouse, the style known as churrasco, with a salad bar. It takes reservations online and opens at noon on weekends.

Mission BBQ on East Commercial Boulevard is part of the Mission BBQ chain. Its page lists restaurant and catering service from the same number, and the company closes on eight major holidays and closes early six days a year.

The Wild Rooster on North Federal Highway, downtown, calls itself fast-casual barbecue and wings. Its menu lists smoked meats, barbecue sandwiches, roasted chicken, wings, rice bowls and Hawaiian shaved ice, and it describes itself as family-friendly.
