Broward County Public Schools’ spring break is Monday, March 22, to Friday, March 26, 2027. With the teacher planning day on Friday, March 19, and Easter on Sunday, March 28, students are out for 10 days in a row. Here is what is open for families in Fort Lauderdale that week.

Camps
Camp STEAMology at the Museum of Discovery and Science. MODS runs its camp “when school’s out” for kindergarten through fifth grade, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with aftercare from 3:30 to 5 p.m. It offers one-, three-, four- and five-day camps to fit the school calendar, with a weekly IMAX film and outings to Esplanade Park across the street. Registration in advance is required and is final; campers wear a camp T-shirt, and one comes with any multi-day camp. Details: Camp STEAMology.
City camps. The City of Fort Lauderdale books classes and camps through its Parks and Recreation registration site. Spring break camp dates for 2027 are not posted yet; we will add them here.
Things to do
Museum of Discovery and Science (MODS), 401 SW 2nd St., downtown in the Arts and Science District across from Esplanade Park on the New River. Open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, 363 days a year, with the AutoNation IMAX theater inside. Details: hours and directions.
Bonnet House Museum & Gardens, 900 N. Birch Road. Self-guided visits Tuesday to Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.; guided tours are not recommended for children 7 and younger. Details: hours and admission.
Stranahan House, 335 SE 6th Ave. The city’s oldest surviving home runs docent tours five to six days a week, with the last tour at 3:15 p.m. Book ahead on the museum’s site.
Hugh Taylor Birch State Park, between the beach and the Intracoastal, is run by the state; hours and fees are on the Florida State Parks page.
