Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 9, 2027. In 2026 the Fort Lauderdale Air Show was held on Mother’s Day weekend, May 9 and 10, and Bonnet House closed for it. The 2027 air show dates had not been published by the city when we checked. Here is what is reliably on that weekend, and where to look for brunch.

Mother’s Day events

We have not yet confirmed a 2027 Mother’s Day brunch, tea or event in Fort Lauderdale from an organizer’s own page. Restaurants, hotels and museums usually post them in April. Gardens and historic homes

Bonnet House Museum & Gardens, 900 N. Birch Road, is a historic estate with gardens on the barrier island between the Intracoastal and the ocean. It is open for self-guided visits Tuesday to Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the grounds closing at 5 p.m., and offers a gardens-only ticket. In 2026 it closed May 9 and 10 for the Fort Lauderdale Air Show, which fell on Mother’s Day weekend. Check hours and admission for 2027.

Stranahan House, 335 SE 6th Ave. on the New River, is the city’s oldest surviving home and runs docent tours five to six days a week. It suggests booking ahead. Details: Stranahan House.

Markets and gifts

The MKT at The LOOP, the open-air market at Las Olas Oceanside Park, 3000 E. Las Olas Blvd., runs every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It sells fresh produce, made-to-order food and handmade goods for wearing and decorating. On Saturdays from November through June it starts with yoga on the lawn at 9:30 a.m. Schedule: the beach business district’s events calendar.

Brunch and dinner

For an evening out, Water Taxi runs a monthly Sunset Music Cruise from Shooters Waterfront, 3033 NE 32nd Ave., with happy hour from 5 p.m. and sailing at 6:30 p.m.

The air show weekend

The city’s America 250 page listed the 2026 air show, Air Dot Show Fort Lauderdale “Salute Across America,” on May 9 and 10, 2026, and said it would showcase the city’s waterfront. We will add the 2027 dates, and any road closures, here once they are published.
