Registration and fees
Registration runs through Active.com from the organizer’s register page, which shows the current fee for each race. Registrations are non-refundable unless you bought Registration Protection when you signed up. Runners who cannot make it can defer to the next year for a fee through the deferral form, and can ask to switch distances through the contact page.
The course
The race starts downtown, heads to the beach and joins State Road A1A. Miles 5 to 7 are a single loop through Hugh Taylor Birch State Park. After the park the rest of the course stays on A1A. The marathon makes two loops along A1A, turning at the north end twice before heading straight south to the finish. Water and Gatorade stops come about every mile to mile and a half, the first one about 2 miles in, with portable toilets at each. Course maps are on the course information page.
Road closures
The course uses downtown streets and State Road A1A from before dawn Sunday. The organizer says both courses close at noon; after that, slower runners move to the sidewalk so the city can reopen the road. The finish area on Seabreeze Boulevard runs until 1:30 p.m. Street-by-street closure times for 2027 had not been published when we checked; this page will add them, and the road construction and closures page carries the city’s notices. If you live east of the Intracoastal, plan Sunday morning trips around the race.
Parking and shuttles
The organizer’s advice is blunt: be parked by 5 a.m. at the latest, carpool, or get dropped off by Uber or Lyft. Arriving to park at 5:30 a.m. means missing the start.
- Free shuttle buses run between the finish and the start from 4 to 6 a.m. before the race, and both ways until 1:30 p.m. The finish-area stop is at Harbor Drive and Seabreeze Boulevard (3013 Harbor Drive). The start-area stop is near 201 Avenue of the Arts, behind the corrals.
- Near the start: the Arts and Sciences District Garage, 101 SW Fifth Ave.; the Terrace Parking Lot, 110 SW Ninth Terrace; the Governmental Center garage, 151 SW Second St.; and County Lot II, 80 SW First Ave. City lots take the PayByPhone app.
- 5K parking (fees apply): the Riverwalk Center garage, 150 SE Second St., and the Governmental Center garage.
- Kids run parking: Beach Place, 17 S. Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd., four blocks south of the kids’ start.
