Fireworks at home

Florida law (section 791.08, Florida Statutes) allows people to use fireworks on three designated holidays: Independence Day, July 4, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. The law does not override other local rules, and a properly recorded homeowners’ association covenant can still ban them.

Where else to watch

In Fort Lauderdale the beach show is the main event. For other July 4 events in the neighboring cities, check their parks departments in June; we list what we confirm in things to do this month.
