If you miss it
Fort Lauderdale residents can also use Tamarac’s drop-off from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at 6011 Nob Hill Road. Proof of residency is required. Questions go to Tamarac at 954-597-3750, according to the city’s listing for that event.
Electronics do not have to wait for an event. The city collects them at the curb on your regular recycling day. Request a pickup by 4 p.m. the day before, online or through the 24-hour Neighbor Call Center at 954-828-8000. Set items next to the blue cart no earlier than 6 p.m. the night before and no later than 7 a.m. on collection day.
What it means for you
Paint, oil and pool chemicals cannot go in a trash cart. City code bans putting oil waste and hazardous material out for garbage collection. Dumping it in a storm drain or on any property is an environmental crime, and the city takes reports at 954-828-5700.
If you have a garage shelf of old cans and bottles, register now: the form closes at noon the day before the event. Our trash and recycling guide has the rest of the city’s pickup rules, including bulk trash and yard waste.
